You might have heard that everyone is buying a new Tv for 2009. Although my digital cable box will keep my RCA from fishtankdom for years I do keep an eye out for any tempting options on the horizon. The Brionvega Alpha LCD television is definitely a shiny bring orange possibility.

An LCD TV set with built-in DVD player, characterized by a design which screams Italy in the Thirties. Alpha is composed of two slender elements joint by a frame in chrome tube. Even the remote control has been rethought and lovely designed.

They say the low shooting angle of the Rollei makes it ideal for portraits because the lens isn’t at eye level. So your subjects feel more at ease. You can even shoot from the floor without having to get on your back. The Rollei’s technology is definitely crush worthy. The MIniDigi however is not a full-feature camera but it does have some pretty nice stats.

A hooded 1.1” LCD display guards against stray light on your viewfinder. The auto focus shoots between 4 inches to infinity. The 6x6cm lens produces images with three resolution options; 2304 x 2304 pixels (5 mp), 1536 x 1536 pixels (3 mp) and 768 x 768 pixels (1 mp).

The absolute pinnacle of cool, there’s something seriously sexy about a Rollei. Plus the square format means no wasted seconds switching between landscape and portrait.

While most of us sing the praises of digital music, there's something to be said for the good old-fashioned mix tape, complete with a handwritten playlist. Sharing your iTunes playlist with a friend is an act almost completely devoid of that special personal touch, something that is achieved only through hours of song selection and manual recording. And don't forget—there was once a time when giving someone a mix tape was a sacred act, bestowed upon dear friends and would-be lovers.

That's where the SUCK UK USB Mix Tape comes in. Capturing the charm of a mix tape while embracing the digital age, this gift pack includes a 64MB USB memory stick on which to save your own personal mix. The memory stick is then embedded into a cassette tape-style holder. There's even room to handwrite the playlist on a paper foldout, like we used to do back in the day. It's the perfect way to share some musical loving with a friend or loved one while reviving the once-glorious tradition that is the mix tape.

Years back I remember having to sit down and import CD after CD into my computer. It was a huge undertaking of several days but then magically all my CDs were available at once and travel ready. Sitting on my external just waiting for mixed tape fame. But what about all that forgotten vinyl? Why can't my Rick Springfield be digital?

Well now it can (when I move to Japan). The Faltima Series 010 plays and records from; analog records, music CDs, data CDs (MP3 & WMA), USB memory sticks (MP3 & WMA), and SD cards (MP3 and WMA file). It also features AM/FM radio. But again only available in Japan.

With the huge amount of turn over in the electronics industry it's nice to feel like you're investing in something that will last you longer than six months. The Mangno radio from Singgih Kartono was not only built to last but designed for longevity as well. It's a brilliant mix of technology and handicrafts, created from sustainable harvested wood by local craftspeople. It even won an award from the International Design Resource Association (IDRA) in Seattle.

Check out this vintage find—who knew that kids back in the late '70s could maintain their oral hygeine with such an exciting tool. I imagine no other device with Princess Leia on its handle can boast breath-freshening power. As Ms. Leia once said herself, "The more you tighten your grip...the more star systems will slip through your fingers." She probably wasn't alluding to plaque build up, but why not have your light saber and clean teeth too.
